About Us
Understand your Mac before choosing your next step.
MacMagical is a model reference and serial lookup tool by Roger Maragh. It brings model information, support resources and practical next steps together so you can research a Mac, check a possible part or prepare a more useful support question.
What MacMagical does
- Serial lookup: checks a serial against the model references available to this site and presents a possible model or family match.
- Model resources: links to Apple support, iFixit and searches for relevant parts and accessories.
- Help: uses your short question to show guidance cards from the site’s built-in references.
- Original lookup: preserves the earlier lookup interface at Original Serial Lookup.
Use a match as a starting point
A serial or model-family match is a reference, not a complete inspection of a device. The lookup may not identify a serial, and a match does not prove ownership, warranty coverage, authenticity or the hardware currently installed. Memory, storage, colour and other details can vary within a family or change after purchase.
Confirm the model identifier and the part number on the device before buying parts or attempting a repair. Compare the manufacturer’s specifications and the seller’s compatibility information. Apple’s support resources and iFixit’s guides can help with further research.
Shopping and external resources
Shopping links open searches on external services, including Google searches for Amazon, eBay and iFixit results. MacMagical does not provide a live price feed, verify stock or guarantee that a search result fits your Mac. Prices, availability, delivery and returns are determined by the external seller. Review that seller’s details before making a purchase.
Your serial and your privacy
The main lookup sends the serial in the request body. The original lookup uses a URL query, which can appear in browser history and request logs. The Privacy Policy explains these differences, analytics on these information pages and the information external services may receive.
